My name is Samantha King, and I’m proud to lead Caring Transitions of Mobile and Baldwin Counties alongside my mother and business partner, Lisa Smith. I’ve lived in Mobile County my entire life, and this community means a great deal to me. After 16 years in the medical field, I found myself drawn to a different kind of caregiving—one rooted in supporting families through life’s most difficult transitions. Before taking ownership, I spent a year working for the previous Caring Transitions franchisee. During that time, I quickly fell in love with the mission and the people we serve. The care, relief, and dignity we provide to families navigating downsizing, relocation, and estate cleanouts is unlike anything I’ve experienced in any other role. After personally experiencing how overwhelming it can be to handle a loved one’s belongings following a loss, I knew I wanted to be part of the solution for others. If our family had known about Caring Transitions during that time, it would have changed everything. As a single mother, showing my children the value of compassion, hard work, and integrity is deeply important to me. Through Caring Transitions, I not only get to set that example, but I also get to make a meaningful impact in the lives of people in my community. Our goal is to ensure no one has to face these transitions alone, and to provide peace of mind when it’s needed most.
